WebDec 9, 2024 · I made the decision to disable my hood switch in order to disable the start /stop feature on my 2024 TH. Key word is “I” did this. I bypassed a safety feature. I just pulled the harness from the switch but it also gives me the amber icon on the dash, but I have learned to ignore it. a dealership should not be bypassing a safety feature. Not sure if its normally open or normally closed, but I'm guessing its just a simple switch. P.S. The remote start will turn off if you get low on gas, too. P.P.S.

Aftermarket remote starts don't read the Ford factory hood switch. Aftermarket remote starts come with their own hood switch or use a standard aftermarket one.
