You can get Heim joint seals from a company called Seals-It, it is a thin shim stock material washer with a rubber boot molded to it, looks a lot like a ball joint or tierod seal, just thinner. These seals will hold a thin film of grease and keep dirt out. Great on 4-links and ladder bars.
